Computer Science in Space

Star and Planet

What is out there?

Computer Science has been vital to our explorations of space, both in our trips to space and our earth-bound probing. Our fascination with space has also led to innovations in computer science too, from the earliest attempts at computers to the satellites that keep many of our computer-based technologies afloat. As private space explorer, video games designer and friend of cs4fn, Richard Garriott once said, space flight these days is all about programming.

Here we look at some of the links between space and computer science. You can even get involved yourself.

Issue 8 of cs4fn is all about space. You can read the whole issue on its own magazine+ page, or see below for highlights of all the space-related articles we've ever done.
